ART EVENTS IN FAIRFAX

The Artists Coalition of Fairfax Gallery Inaugural Reception on January 11, 2020

Opening Reception at Our New Fairfax Gallery

Opening reception at the Artists Coalition of Fairfax (Artcofair) new Art Gallery showcasing a special group exhibit with a striking collection of original works of art. With more than 80 attendees the January 11th opening reception was a success. Attendees enjoyed the exhibit that was displaying a remarkable collection of 100 original works by a talented group of local artists. The show includes works in oil, acrylics, watercolors and mixed media. Among them are the works of  Rosemary Gallick’s Golden era of Rock mixed media portraits, Ramona Weaver’s mesmerizing paintings, Marlene Farmer’s oil portrayal of wild animals and her famous clouds series, Linda Gertsten’s beautiful watercolors, Maria Briganti’s colorful landscapes, Dave Rafalko’s photographs, Betty Baumgartner’s collection of sunsets and seascapes, Silvio Amurrio’s gestural brushwork in his dynamic semi abstract renditions, and Oscar Vigano’s black and white and travel series. The collection was received very well by attendees and generated a lot of interest with one piece specifically having three buyers, two of them very frustrated as it was already sold. The artist’s community also responded strongly to the new gallery with three artists joining the show this week, and others expressing interest. At Artcofair we were able to fulfill our main objective; create interest in the arts by connecting artists and community. And we are very pleased and thankful with the enthusiastic response from our community.

The Fairfax Art coalition has new ideas for the artistic community and I am looking forward all their venues. A great addition to the City of Fairfax, VA. Best wishes.
