Arts Herndon Exhibit Rules contain all the requirements to exhibit at the Arts Herndon’s Gallery. Read these Exhibit Rules before submitting your work for the Arts Herndon/Artcofair exhibit.
HANGING FEES AND COMMISSIONS
- Hanging fees will be $5.00 for Artists Coalition of Fairfax members.
- Arts Herndon will collect 30% commission on any sales
ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY GUIDELINES
- This exhibit will consist of a maximum of 38 pieces of original artwork. You are invited to submit up to 3 art pieces. It should be noted that that the maximum amount of 38 will dictate how many art pieces we will accept per submission. Once the maximum of 38 is reached further reception will be closed.
- Watercolors must be suitably framed.
- Artwork on canvas must be framed or gallery wrapped with edges painted with a continuation of the theme colors or black.
- All artwork submissions must have proper hanging wires on the back. No other hanging method will be accepted.
- Only art that will safely hang on a wall with wires installed in back will be acceptable.
- The artist Coalition of Fairfax will provide the Art Title & Price labels that will be attached to the bottom of each artwork.
- All artwork presented must include Title, Medium, Size, Name of Author, and Price
ORIGINAL ARTWORK
Original artwork includes drawings, lithographs, serigraphs, digital art, photographs, or sculptures to hang on a wall with a limited amount of pedestal available
ART SALES
- All artwork submissions must be available for sale.
- Artcofair will collect $5.00 hanging fees
- Sales and commissions will be handled by Arts Herndon.
- Arts Herndon will charge a 30% sales commission.
- A commission must be paid for any submitted artwork sold by any means while hanging at Arts Herndon, Sherwood, or at any of our exhibits.
- Artists are free to sell their works exhibited at Arts Herndon anytime after the show ends.
- Artwork must be available to hang during the entire duration of this show and no artwork can be taken down unless sold at the venue.
- Artists will be responsible to pay any applicable taxes on art sales.
ARTS HERNDON AND THE ARTIST COALITION OF FAIRFAX AGREEMENT
Arts Herndon and the Artists Coalition of Fairfax will use reasonable care in handling and displaying artwork. However, Arts Herndon and the Artists Coalition of Fairfax will not be responsible for any loss, theft or damage to artwork on display for this art show. By submitting the Exhibit application all artists agree to release arts Herndon and Artist Coalition of Fairfax of any responsibility regarding any loss, theft or damage to artwork on display for this art show.
SHERWOOD GALLERY GUIDELINES
To ensure all the requirements of the Herndon City Manager, City Council and everyone involved are met, Ms. Joanna Ormesher Arts Herndon CEO and President will act as the final authority approving all artwork proposed for hanging in the Sherwood Center, while she also will have veto power to reject anything she does not deem appropriate.
